A pair of newborn twins in Texas will grow up celebrating their birthdays not just on different days but in different years! Yes, you heard it right! This wondrous phenomenon recently happened in Texas, when twin sisters Effie Rose and Annie Jo were born just minutes apart on New Year’s Eve in 2022 and New Year’s Day in 2023.
The Twins
According to Fox station KDFW, the twins of Cliff Scott and Kali Jo Scott each achieved a milestone by being born just minutes apart! While the couple welcomed their daughter Annie Jo at 11:55 p.m. on New Year’s Eve, their other daughter Effie Rose came into the world just minutes later, at 12:01 a.m., after the stroke of midnight. This incident made baby Annie and Effie respectively the last baby of 2022 and the first baby of 2023, born at the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Denton. Though the baby girls arrived almost a week and a half early, the delivery process went without a hitch.
The Reaction
As the new mom of the twins, Kali Jo Scott told the media she thought that the fact that her baby girls were born in different years was super fun and hilarious. The parents are also excited about the extraordinary fact that the girls will be getting their own birthdays, something most twins don’t often get to have! Kali Jo Scott also explained to the media that, despite being twins, she would always make sure that her girls get to develop their individual personalities, making them unique and special in their own distinct way. Interestingly, now the two different birthdays of the twins have made this even more possible. As Kali Jo puts it, on their birthdays from now on, one will always get the confetti and glitter of New Year’s Eve, the other one will get to kick off a brand new year on New Year’s Day.
